Back-bar storage cabinets are refrigerated units designed specifically for the behind-the-bar environment, combining chilled storage with a durable work or display surface directly under the bar line. These cabinets typically feature a stainless steel countertop or top surface that doubles as a work area or bottle placement zone, with the refrigeration compartment located directly beneath. The storage area is configured with doors (solid or glass) to hold bottled or canned beverages, mixers, and other bar supplies, and often includes adjustable wire or epoxy coated shelves for flexible organization. The refrigeration system is self-contained, with features such as front-breathing ventilation (enabling installation flush against walls or other equipment), efficient condensers, digitally-controlled thermostats, LED interior lighting in display models, and a temperature range designed to keep beverages in the optimal service zone (usually about 1 °C to 4 °C for beer and soft drinks). Construction materials include stainless steel exteriors and floors, galvanized steel or stainless interiors, heavy-duty insulation, and magnetic gaskets to maintain cold-air integrity in busy service settings. Glass-door models enhance visibility and can act as merchandisers, while solid-door units focus on capacity and insulation.
